Any common household products that will kill fire ants?
Does anyone know of any common household product or magic combination of common household ingredients that might kill Fire Ants? I have them in the area I just tilled for a small garden but I don’t want to use any harsh chemicals in the dirt where I’m about to put vegetable plants that I will hopefully eat from soon.
Any ideas?

find the mound
get baking soda and strong vinegar
pour on the backing soda, make extra holes to get more in, they do not like it
Pour on the vinegar, do not be stingy

I heard that sprinkling cornmeal works; they take it home,
but they can’t digest it & it swells up.

boric acid or
boiling water or
hot sauce or
vinegar or
baby powder or
cornmeal.
all of those will kill ants and won’t hurt your garden (unless you poured it all over your plants which is doubtful)

Grits. Just sprinkle them over the mound.

ant lure mixed in boric acid might work. It works for other pests.
