how can i get rid of fire ants in my front yard?

i was just outside and i found a whole bunch of fire ants. i cant use the bug spray because i am alergic to them all. do you know what i can use?? this is kind of an emergency because i have a baby brother and sister. can you please help me?? tell me as soon as possible what you think.
