Get Rid of Carpenter Ants

I’m renting a house in central Florida. Fire ants have infested the yard and are starting to come into the house through a hole. The landlord is no help. I have 2 dogs that roam the house and yard. I’m not going to stay here long but the ants are too much of a nuisance to do nothing. Please consider it is summer and it has rained here everyday for the past 4 days or so. I need a CHEAP AND EFFECTIVE solution(s) to eradicate these ants. Thank you!
