I have really tiny ants in my back yard they’re all over the place, we know they’re not carpenter ants.

What could they be?? What will kill them??

First to the guy/gal who says they won’t bite: Are you nuts?! All ants will bite!

The most effective way to treat ants is to locate and treat their mound or colony (not all ants create mounds).

Depending on the species, Amdro might work. It’s a great bait and you don’t need as much as the label says you need (ie don’t use six pounds of it to surround your home… )

Other species of ants need the mound drenched with a product labeled for such applications.

Avoid the powders you put at their mound unless you are willing to water the powder in like the label says to do.

Avoid liquid or gel baits as they won’t last long outside.

Avoid bait stations – I’ve yet to see an effective one.

Worst comes to worst, call a professional.

Also: Before someone posts it – cinnamon, bay leaf and essential oils might kill a few ants, but they won’t make a dent in the total ant population. You’ll just waste time and money. Go with science, and if all else fails, hire a professional.

    Raspberry ants?

All I know about them is the Democrats are blaming George Bush for these invasive pests.

They are doing WONDERFUL things for your soil and plants. Try keeping them around awhile. They won’t bite!
