Bitten by red imported fire ants, what else should I put on to help the itching/swelling?

Yesterday I was walking & accidently stepped into a fire ant nest. I have about 15-25 bites on my right foot. Once I looked down & saw the ants crawling on my foot, I ditched my shoe & ran dragging my foot through the grass. There was a lot of burning. About 30 -60 min later I got home & washed my foot with cold water & soap. I didnt think it was a big deal & didnt look into it more, but I put Lanabiotic (bacitracin, neomycin sulfate, polymyxin B sulfate, pramoxine HCl, aloe, benzoic acid, mineral oil, petrolatum, silica, tocopheryl acetate) on the bites the same day i got them.

Its been 1 day & I can confirm i dont have a serious allergy to fire ant bites but the swelling hasnt gone down and I havent gotten the pustules yet… all articles i read said that pustules formed about 30-60 minutes after the bite? I put bleach and water on my foot (perhaps too late to work now) and more Lanabiotic. I’m putting baking soda + water on my foot after the bleach settles in. What else can i do?
Also I havent experienced any stinging from the sites of the bites except just when I got stung by the ants. My only problem is swelling/itching. I experience occasional burning but its not much and it actually feels quite good (seems to sooth the itching – idk if its the medicine or the venom)

Are Carpenter Ants good for soil?

I found what appears to be a carpenter ant nest about 40 feet from my house. I’m of the mind to take it out, but my wife says that they’re good for the soil and we should leave them alone? Which one of us is right?

Carpenter Ant Nest in Unused Hot Tub

Last week, Scott wanted to show me the custom tile job he and his father did on the hot tub on the deck. When he opened the lid, we found a nest of carpenter ants. Today, I took some footage of the nest prior to the extermination. The nest is likely less than six months old. Carpenter ants are opportunists and loved the warm void with water source that the hot tub provided. The voices are Pamela’s, Scott’s, the exterminator’s, and mine. I apologize for the low resolution–I took it with my regular camera.

What is the best way to treat carpenter ants found in a tree ?

Part of a Magnolia Tree fell into my yard. It has a large fork in the middle of the tree that branches off into 3 sections. One section has collasped. I cut this section up and discovred what appears to be a carpeter ant nest in the center of the forked section. Can the rest of the tree be saved. Or does it have to be cut down. I would really like to try and save the rest of this beautiful tree.

How do I get rid of carpenter ants?

I have a carpenter ant nest in my house. I know that it’s in my house and what wall it is behind.

Everything I’ve read says lay out poison or insert poison into the walls. I have an extremely curious cat, who will certainly get into any poison. How do I kill the ants without killing him too?
