Termites have a colonising flight each year, over the warmer months on dusk and usually on a very humid evening up to a hundred thousand termites can fly from a nest in search of a new home. Two termites just need to mate up find a home some food and moisture and they can start a new colony. A new colony can grow to contain as many as two million termites within seven years.
