The fire ant, a nasty agressive insect causing serious painful bites, migrated from South America to the US before the Second World war. Later on it infested Australia. In the last few years the fire ant has also been found in China, Taiwan and the Phillipines.
A friend of mine in Thailand shows a serious allergy to ant bites, which strongly resembles a fire ant allergy. Is there any evidence that fire ants occur in Thailand (specifically the Southern peninsula) ?

Do you think this could be related to the bites or an allergic reaction? He lives in a North Carolina farming area . Could farm chemicals consumed by the ants have contributed to the reaction? I used to get bitten by fire ant on regular basis when I lived in Texas (Houston area) and I think I must have become immune to them because they never really bothered me. Tell me what you think.

So today I stepped in a fire ant hill and got about 70 ant bites on my feet and legs.. I want a fun brutal way to kill them. Im willing to go to the extreme. Firecrackers dont work, ive lit one on fire but had to put it out because theres high fire risk. give me multiple ideas how to go hitler on these jew ants.
Yesterday I was walking & accidently stepped into a fire ant nest. I have about 15-25 bites on my right foot. Once I looked down & saw the ants crawling on my foot, I ditched my shoe & ran dragging my foot through the grass. There was a lot of burning. About 30 -60 min later I got home & washed my foot with cold water & soap. I didnt think it was a big deal & didnt look into it more, but I put Lanabiotic (bacitracin, neomycin sulfate, polymyxin B sulfate, pramoxine HCl, aloe, benzoic acid, mineral oil, petrolatum, silica, tocopheryl acetate) on the bites the same day i got them.
Its been 1 day & I can confirm i dont have a serious allergy to fire ant bites but the swelling hasnt gone down and I havent gotten the pustules yet… all articles i read said that pustules formed about 30-60 minutes after the bite? I put bleach and water on my foot (perhaps too late to work now) and more Lanabiotic. I’m putting baking soda + water on my foot after the bleach settles in. What else can i do?
Also I havent experienced any stinging from the sites of the bites except just when I got stung by the ants. My only problem is swelling/itching. I experience occasional burning but its not much and it actually feels quite good (seems to sooth the itching – idk if its the medicine or the venom)
now i just saw some ants and mosquitoes around my house and i have red, huge bites on my legs. i have no idea if they are mosquito bites or fire ant bites, i have had a high fever for the past 2 days and i need to know if a fire ant or mosquito bite can cause fevers. please answer as soon as possible!
There’s two huge fire ant hills in my yard. I was just wondering if there is any household item that will kill them quick and effectively?

Fire ants are nasty little buggers. They sting or bite or something. Whatever it is, it hurts. SOmeone told me they are deadly. They have poison. I don’t like these little devils, are they from Satan. I also have footage of video from the destruction of another anthill, in high def. If you want to see the Hi-def, they come back later.

I got too close to this fire ant hill today on my patio and they attacked my ankle. That S h i t hurt! Pissin me off a lil bit! I need to know a good way to wipe out that colony of loosers but I want them to suffer cause my ankle’s swollen like a biscuit.
I have a fire ant pile around the post of my mailbox. My husband loves to pour gasoline in a pile and light it. I don’t think that will work too well here. Any suggestions?
