Carpenter Ants in my house!?

Ok, well about a week ago is when I first noticed them. I felt something in my hair & I pulled it out it was a big black ant. (every summer we’ve lived here we had those small teeny tiny black ants, but these ants now are huge!). After I pulled it out of my hair I looked up & there were 2 more on my ceiling. Anyway, I looked up black ant images search and it looks like a carpenter ant to me. I have a 2 yr old daughter & I think one bit her while she was in her room (bc she ended up crying saying "boo boo" and the top of her hand was red, then the next day there was a white bubble where it was red before and it was red around it). Anyway, I need a way to get these things out of my house. I don’t want them biting my daughter again, or anyone else. I just found one on the floor a minute ago (my daughter poited it out saying "bug bite!"). I also don’t want any harsh chemicals around my daughter. Thanks for the help! =)

How to get rid of fire ants in my garden?

I don’t want to use any harsh chemicals, and I found on a previous answer vinegar works. There is a mass amount of them that climb all over my fingers and things when I’m weeding.

Any other suggestions how to get rid of them?

What is the best way to get rid of small FIRE ants?

These ants are always on my back porch, which we have to leave the door open during the day to keep the breeze flowing through the house. It’s a real "pain" when I have to hang the laundry. I’m looking for any simple…cheap ways to get rid of them. It seems like there is a never ending supply of them and they must travel from afar because I can’t find the ant bed!

We have children that are often outside on this porch or around it so I prefer that there be no really harsh chemicals. Can anyone help?

Any common household products that will kill fire ants?

Does anyone know of any common household product or magic combination of common household ingredients that might kill fire ants? I have them in the area I just tilled for a small garden but I don’t want to use any harsh chemicals in the dirt where I’m about to put vegetable plants that I will hopefully eat from soon.

Any ideas?
